no icons on desktop after migrating to gtk+3.6.1 from 3.4.2 in ubuntu 12.04
wanted to experiment by updating gtk+3.4.2 to 3.6.1 by using ppa repository. so i did and restarted my pc . i could see the icons and shortcuts in nautilus but not on the desktop. i know migrating gtk to a newer version messes things up but i did it anyway..
pls tell me how to fix it or downgrade to the latest precise version of gtk (in which everything worked fine).
i have core 2 duo processor 2gb ram; 2gb swap; 100gb ubuntu 12.04.2 & 12gb ubuntu studio 13.04 on my 500gb hdd
